While her name wasn't used in Kim's video, Lee told BI that she connected the dots after watching it. AdvertisementLee said that while it "didn't feel right" to come to the internet with such a private issue, she decided to post her own TikTok video to clear up misconceptions about her. Lee told BI that the response to the video has felt overwhelming, and that she has turned off her notifications.

But each day, the current state of the world dissuades me more and more from having children. Like many folks in Gen Z (those born between 1997 and 2012), my main concern is climate change. As environmental catastrophes reach a caliber we cannot predict or conceive, having children is becoming less of a risk I’m willing to take. Coupled with the resources and opportunities that the US provides, my hypothetical children likely wouldn’t be among the worst-affected by climate change. Under today’s environmental and political climate, I find it is better to regret not having children than regret having them.

We thought that the most extensive pogrom — the Holocaust — would mark the end of the terrible record of violence against Jews, just because they are Jews. Her death in the spring of 1919 came during a stretch of time when 150,000 Jews were murdered. Ilan Troen's daughter and son-in-law, Deborah and Shlomi Mathias, who were murdered in their home in Kibbutz Holit on the Gaza border in the opening hours of the Hamas pogrom on Saturday. Hamas and other antisemites do not have the power to terminate what was initiated on this land more than 3,000 years ago.

Reports of women stripped naked and paraded by fighters in Gaza, toddlers kidnapped alongside Holocaust survivors, homes burst into by terrorists hunting down Jews. The last one, with its supposed vision of a peaceful Palestinian state living side by side with Israel. I spent nearly three years at the Trump White House attempting to reach a peace deal between Israel and its Palestinian neighbors. (Indeed, the peace plan we crafted was rejected by the Palestinian leadership in Ramallah before they even read it.) Israel cannot achieve peace with Palestinians when a segment of the Palestinian population still intends to destroy it.

Reckless spending and radical policies created near-record inflation, soaring grocery bills, rising energy costs and skyrocketing interest and mortgage rates. That’s why we are barreling toward a shutdown rather than agreeing on a spending package to keep the federal government working. Worse, they seemingly live in an alternate reality where Republicans control the White House and the US Senate as well as the House of Representatives. My constituents sent me here to represent their interests, and let me tell you, no one wins in a government shutdown. Bipartisanship isn’t a sign of weakness, and it isn’t something to be derided; it’s a sign of a functional democracy.

However, the 814-page document devoted less than three pages to making recommendations, and in those, perplexingly failed to offer a meaningful set related to domestic terrorism. There is little question that right-wing extremism, particularly white supremacist extremism, is currently the deadliest and most pervasive domestic terrorism threat facing the United States. Nearly 1 in 4 of these right-wing extremist killings were committed in the name of white supremacist terrorism – a staggering 251 total deaths. Given that, Trump’s lawyers may well advise him to stay off the witness stand and avoid the risks of cross examination — but demure silence is hardly in his nature. In Trump’s cross examination, however, the prosecutors would be able to confront him with his false statements one after another, seamlessly telling their entire story of Trump’s duplicity in his own words. The lawyers, some of whom have been identified as unindicted co-conspirators, could assert the Fifth Amendment for themselves, but that would just undermine Trump’s defense. Even assuming there are still employees willing to stand by him, however, Trump’s cronies would not exactly be the most convincing witnesses. Although there would be a hearsay exception for statements showing Trump’s “state of mind,” that would only allow the witnesses to testify to Trump’s actual words.
